SOHR: Explosions were heard inside the American base in the Al-Tanf area in the eastern countryside of Homs

 

The Syrian news agency, SANA, said that several explosions were heard today, Sunday, inside a base of the US forces in the Al-Tanf area in the eastern countryside of Homs on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported: “Two explosions rocked the 55 area located at the border triangle between Syria, Iraq and Jordan within the Syrian Badia, where the international coalition’s military base is located at Al-Tanf.”

According to the information of the “observatory”, “a coalition helicopter flew this morning in the airspace of the area, after which a first explosion of medium intensity shook the area, followed by another violent and severe explosion.”

The observatory continued, “There has been no information available so far about the nature of the two explosions, whether they were caused by coalition military exercises or the launching of missiles from the base, or caused by targeting the base.”
