Targeted by unidentified gunmen| Regime soldier killed and officer wounded in east Daraa countryside

Daraa province: Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle have opened fire on an officer and a soldier of the regime “52nd Brigade”, in the area between al-Harak town and al-Maliha in the eastern countryside of Daraa. The attack left the soldier dead while the officer seriously wounded.

Accordingly, the number of people who were killed across Daraa province since the start of the recent agreements has risen to 76. The fatalities were distributed as follows:
• 40 civilians, including two child and a woman, some of them were former fighter and gave up fighting after striking reconciliation deals in 2018.
• 32 regime soldiers, members of the Russian-backed 5th Corps and regime “collaborators”.
• Four local gunmen of anti-reconciliation groups.

Since the beginning of the security chaos in Daraa in early June 2019, Syrian Observatory activists have documented more than 1,254 attacks and assassination attempts by gunfire and detonations of IEDs, motorcycle-bombs and car-bombs. These attacks and assassinations claimed the lives of 917 persons, categorised as follows:
• Four local gunmen of anti-reconciliation groups.
• 287 civilians, including 16 women and 26 children
• 409 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.
• 155 fighters of factions that struck “reconciliation and settlements” deals with the regime and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders.
• 27 Syrian militiamen affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces.
• 35 members of the so-called 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
