Following clashes | Three civilians killed in grenade explosion in western Daraa countryside

Daraa province: SOHR activists have documented the death of three civilians of “Qiwan” family in Tafs city in the western Daraa countryside due to the explosion of a grenade while messing with it.

This explosion followed disputes evolved to clashes between “Qiwan” family and “Al-Basabesa” family, led to setting several houses of Al-Mibasbis family on fire.

On August 10, SOHR activists documented the injury of three people from al-Bardan family in clashes with Kiwan family in Tafas city in the western countryside of Daraa. It is worth noting that the clashes ignited over old dispute between the two families.

On August 7, SOHR sources reported renewed tribal fight between members of al-Swaydan tribe and others of al-Jehayshi tribe in the eastern countryside of Daraa, where machineguns were used during these clashes. The conflicting tribes blocked roads in al-Jiza town and surrounding areas, while tension was growing in the region.

The clashes resulted in the death of two children and serious injury to a young man after being hit with indiscriminate gunfire.

It is worth noting that a considerable dispute had ignited between the two tribes over the death of a man from one of these tribes in gunfire by the other tribe, but they did not reach any agreements.

Most of the young men of al-Swaydan tribe are serving for the military security service and pro-regime local factions, while the members of al-Jehayshi tribe have individual weapons.
