Fearing repeated attacks by Coalition | 21 pro-Iran militias join NDF in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that 21 local militiamen of Abu Gharib group have joined the National Defence Forces in western Deir Ezzor countryside, after they had served in the ranks of the 47th Regiment which was led by the Iranian-backed Al-Haj Askar.

Accordingly, the number of Iranian-backed local groups that joined the National Defence Forces since October has risen to three, where a group known as Al-Abbas and another group comprising 30 fighters had joined NDF previously.

SOHR documented that the number of Iranian militias that joined the National Defence forces has risen to 51.

According to sources, the militiamen joined the National Defence Forces after their monthly salaries were deducted and for fear of bombardment by the “International Coalition” on the headquarters and military checkpoints.

On the other hand, Al-Haj Askar held a meeting and threatened to imprisonment the militiamen who left the faction and worked for another side, and promised them give them the money deducted previously from their salaries.
