Arbitrary arrest | Security tensions between “Al-Asayish” and regime forces in Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: Regime political security service has arrested an inhabitant from Tal Berak town in east Al-Hasakah in an arbitrary way during his visit to the civil documentation office in Al-Hasakah. Accordingly, the internal security forces (Al-Asayish) intensified the checking measures on its checkpoints amid tensions between Al-Asayish and the regime forces.

On December 4, SOHR sources reported that members of “Al-Asayish” stationed at a checkpoint in Al-Qamishli city arrested a pro-regime dignitary of Shumar tribe, while he was heading to the airport to fly to Damascus.

According to sources, the detainee is from Tel Joker town, and he is a businessman with close ties to high-ranking figures in the Syrian regime including the head of the National Security Office the Major General “Ali Mamlouk”, and the “Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants “Bashar Al-Jaafari”.

Earlier, SOHR sources reported that members of “Al-Asayish” stationed at a checkpoint in Al-Qamishli city arrested a pro-regime dignitary of Shumar tribe, while he was heading to the airport to fly to Damascus. However, the reasons behind arresting the man remained unknown.
