HTS repression | Media activists prevented from filming arrival of UN relief convoy in Idlib

Idlib province: SOHR sources have reported that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham has prevented several media activists from documenting and filming the arrival of 12 trucks of the United Nations carrying relief assistance at warehouses near Bab Al-Hawa crossing on the Syria border with Iskenderun region in northern Idlib. It is worth noting that the convoy crossed into HTS-held areas from regime-controlled areas.

According to SOHR sources, armed security members of HTS have been deployed along Idlib-Bab Al-Hawa highway from Al-Tarnabah crossing which connects HTS-held areas from regime-controlled areas in western Saraqeb, as well as junctions leading to this highway. However, the reasons behind these strict security measures and prevention of activists from filming the convoy in such “humiliating” manner remained unknown.

SOHR sources reported earlier today that dozens of Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham vehicles gathered at the entrance to Saraqib city, east of Idlib, to grant a United Nations humanitarian convoy safe access to enter areas held by HTS in Idlib province, coming from regime-held areas via Al-Tarnabah crossing west of Saraqib city.
