Amid flights by reconnaissance aircraft | Russian jets execute over 35 airstrikes on Syrian desert

SOHR sources have reported that Russian fighter jets executed nearly 36 airstrikes on positions in Jabal Al-Bishri and Al-Rasafah desert, along with flights by grand reconnaissance aircraft.

Accordingly, the number of Russian airstrikes which have targeted ISIS positions in the Syrian desert since early December  have exceeded 81.

A few days ago, SOHR sources reported that four Russian fighter jets conducted more than fifteen airstrikes on ISIS cells hotbeds in the desert areas of Al-Rasafah in western Al-Raqqah and Al-Shoulah in western Deir Ezzor. The Russian airstrikes coincided with bringing in military reinforcement by regime forces and their proxies to areas near western and southern deserts of Deir Ezzor and south-west desert of Al-Raqqah with the aim to start routine combing operations, searching for ISIS cells.

This came with the noticeable escalation of ISIS attacks across the Syrian desert, along with ongoing combing operations by regime forces and NDF in Deir Ezzor desert.
