Growing security chaos | Residents find body of worker distributing goods in Al-Suwaydaa

Al-Suwaydaa province: SOHR activists have reported that residents have found the body of a young man with gunshot wounds in Zahr Al-Jabal in Al-Suwaydaa countryside, after he he had gone missing for over 48 hours.

The victim went to work on his car to distribute cigarettes and goods. The victim’s car was found on a road in Zahr Al-Jabal yesterday.

On December 6, SOHR activists reported that civilians found an unidentified man dead and handcuffed near a regime military base on the road of Khalkhala town in the northern countryside of Al-Suwaydaa, where the body was transferred to the hospital to be identified.

Al-Suwaydaa province is witnessing a state of security chaos similar to all Syrian regions under different powers, in addition to the “kidnaping” phenomenon that is widespread in the province.

According to SOHR statistics, 65 people, including four children were kidnapped and documented by names in Al-Suwaidaa province in 2021. However, SOHR confidently estimates that the total number of kidnapped people is much higher.

Collecting ransoms, retaliation and personal disputes were the prominent motivations behind most of these kidnappings.
