SOHR : Deir ez-Zor.. a massive attack by ISIS… targeting Palmyra airport, which is under the control of the Russians

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that “ISIS carried out, at midnight on Saturday-Sunday, an attack on Deir ez-Zor, killing 7 members of the Palestinian Al-Quds Brigade (forces auxiliary to the regime forces) and Division 17, in addition to wounding about 17 others.” “The wounded were taken to Deir Ezzor Military Hospital,” he said.

The Syrian Observatory added that “the attack coincided with violent clashes that erupted between the (National Defense Forces) and (Liwa al-Quds) on one side, and elements of ISIS on the other, in the Jabal al-Bishri area southwest of Deir ez-Zor.”

The “Al-Araby Al-Jadeed” website stated that ISIS operations against the Syrian regime forces and the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) reached Palmyra Military Airport, which is under Russian control, noting that “the airport witnessed a state of alert among the Russian forces that control it after bombing With a mortar, he rolled his walls.”

In turn, the local “Ein al-Furat” network reported that a mortar shell fell on the southern wall of the airport, without any party claiming responsibility for the targeting process, which caused material damage, noting that it was the first time that the airport had been bombed since the control of Palmyra city years ago.

And pro-regime pages on social media reported that the officer affiliated with the regime forces, Hassan Asif Bek, was found dead at the tribal gate of Palmyra, after he was tied to four cars and cut into four pieces. Asef Bek hails from the city of Jableh, and two days ago he was captured with his driver and companion in the Homs desert by gunmen believed to be members of the “ISIS” organization.

On Saturday, the “ISIS” organization, through its media agencies, claimed the attacks that targeted the positions of the “SDF” forces in the Al-Buseira area in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, using rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine guns.

SDF arrests civilians

In Raqqa, on Sunday, SDF arrested a number of displaced people in the north of the province, on the pretext that they were planning to carry out protests against them. The local “Nedaa Al-Euphrates” network stated that a patrol of the General Security Agency, affiliated with the SDF, arbitrarily arrested four displaced people from Deir ez-Zor residing in the northern countryside of Raqqa.

She added that the SDF launched a campaign of raids in the village of Tal al-Saman, north of Raqqa, and arrested displaced youths from Deir ez-Zor on charges of coordinating demonstrations against the decisions of the SDF administration in the city of Raqqa and its countryside, noting that the detainees were transferred to the special detention center in the juvenile prison on Al-Qatar Street in the city center. A security cordon was imposed in the vicinity of Tal Al-Saman village.

The (Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently) page stated that the young man, Hassan Al-Bakri Abu Ibrahim, was shot dead by a SDF member, while he was passing with his wife at the Al-Jazira Junction checkpoint, west of the city of Raqqa. Subsequently, activists called for popular demonstrations in the city of Raqqa to demand accountability for the killer and an end to the repeated violations.

In the north, the Syrian Observatory stated that “regime forces bombed with more than 30 shells the town of Kafr Taal in the western countryside of Aleppo,” and “a civilian was killed by the regime’s bombing of the city of Atarib.” The observatory added that “regime forces bombed, on Sunday morning, the villages and towns of Al-Fatirah, Benin and Felifel in Jabal Al-Zawiya in the southern countryside of Idlib.”

On the other hand, the factions of the “Al-Fateh Al-Mubeen” operations room bombed positions of the regime forces on the Kafr Batikh axis in the southeastern Idlib countryside, according to what the “Syrian Observatory” reported.
