Deir Ezzor | Loud explosions heard near International Coalition military base

 

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported hearing loud consecutive explosions in the vicinity of Al-Omar oil field, which is used by the International Coalition as military base in eastern Deir Ezzor.

According to SOHR sources, the International Coalition forces run military training (exercises) in the vicinity of the base, where smoke plumes rose.

On December 7, SOHR activists reported that the International Coalition conducted military exercises with live ammunition in Abu Khashab desert in northwest Deir Ezzor with the participation of the US (Bradley model) armoured vehicles that arrived in the coalition bases from Rumaylan neighbourhood in Al-Hasakah countryside.

While on December 2, SOHR activists reported that the International Coalition forces stationed in Koniko gas field bombarded ten artillery projectiles on unidentified targets and also fired flares near the forces base.
According to SOHR sources, the International Coalition forces conducted training in the military base without causing security violations in the region.
