Killing two SDF members | Turkish forces renew shelling on Al-Hasakah along with clashes on frontlines

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces have renewed shelling on Tel Tamr countryside in the north-western countryside of Al-Hasakah this evening, two days after a violent shelling which killed two SDF members.

SOHR sources added that the Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on Tel Karabit, Um Al-Kaif and Tel Goma’a villages in the northwestern countryside of Tel Tamr, damaging the electricity network that feeds the electricity station in Tel Tamr.

It is worth noting that the ongoing Turkish shelling on the region forces residents of neighbouring villages to leave and displace from the frontline completely.

On December 10, SOHR activists documented the death of two SDF members and injury of others in Turkish shelling on SDF checkpoints in Al-Dirdara village in Tel Tamr countryside in Al-Hasakah countryside.

According to SOHR activists, Turkish forces in Al-Hasakah frontlines fired dozens of shells on Tel Tamr countryside, targeting Tel Goma’a, Al-Dirdara and Tel Shinan villages, amid displacement by residents from neighbouring villages for fear of expansion of the shelling.

On the same context, SDF responded with shelling military positions in “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside, amid reports of casualties among the ranks of Turkish forces and their proxies.

On December 4, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces and their backed-factions fired mortars and rockets on Tel Al-Laban and Kuzliah villages in the western countryside of Tel Tamr in al-Hasakah province, along with exchange of medium and heavy fire between SDF and Turkish- backed factions on the frontlines between the two sides.

In this context, the SDF-backed Tel Tamr Military Council Forces targeted faction positions. However, no casualties were reported.
