Security campaign in Deir Ezzor | SDF arrests three officials in charge of river crossings used for smuggling

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that SDF patrols have stormed some houses in Al-Busayrah town in the early hours of Tuesday morning, arresting three officials in charge of river crossings used for smuggling goods from areas held by SDF to areas under the control of regime forces and Iranian-backed  militias via Euphrates river.

SOHR activists have just reported that residents set fire to rubber tires, blocking several roads in Al- Busayrah, Ibryaha and Al-Jorzy towns in east Deir Ezzor countryside, where the protestors expressed their discontent over the murder of four people in yesterday’s security campaign in Al-Busayrah city and the storm of civilian houses by the SDF and the International Coalition Forces in light of the growing attacks by ISIS cells in the region.

Yesterday, Military forces affiliated with the “SDF” imposed a curfew in Al-Busayrah city, informing the residents via loudspeakers not to leave their house. Meanwhile the SDF members deployed in the city’s neighbourhoods.

According to SOHR sources, the “SDF” is still searching for wanted persons, one of them escaped earlier from a prison in the town of Al-Suwar in Deir Ezzor countryside.

SOHR had obtained new details on the International Coalition Forces and the SDF’s security campaign in Al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to SOHR sources, the campaign targeted several suspects on charges of “selling weapons and belonging to ISIS”, while one of the sons of the teacher, who was killed during the campaign, was among the targeted suspects. The young man refused to surrender and attempted to escape with his brother-in-law on a motorcycle, before Coalition soldiers on a helicopter shot the two persons dead.

Meanwhile, the military groups participating in the campaign stormed the house of the teacher, drove the teacher and his other son out and executed them by firing squad.

Accordingly, the number of people killed during the security campaign has risen to four: a teacher, two of his sons and their brother-in-law.
