Al-Hasakah | Hours after US forces leave, Turkish artillery shells hit Al-Derdarah village

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that late Wednesday just hours after the US forces left the Al-Derdarah village, the Turkish forces heavily shelled areas in the village that are under the control of the SDF and the Syrian regime in north Tal Tamr countryside in Al-Hasakah province.

A few hours ago, SOHR activists reported that six armoured vehicles of the US-led International Coalition, escorted by SDF, toured Al-Derdarah village in north Tal Tamr countryside in Al-Hasakah province this afternoon. This was the first US activity in that area since Turkey captured areas in north-west Syria during the “Peace Spring” operation in October 2019.

SOHR activists reported that the US forces stopped for an hour in Al-Derdarah village that was under continuous and violent Turkish attacks. Shortly after the US vehicles withdrew from the village, Turkish forces stationed in Al-Rashidyah village fired flares.

Al-Derdarah village is located near the Russian based in Al-Mabaqer on the frontline separating areas under the control of SDF and the Syrian regime from areas controlled by Turkish forces and factions.
