New arbitrary arrests in Afrin | Turkish-backed police arrest more civilians in Maabatli

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported that a patrol of the military police have arrested a civilian from Shourba village in Maabatli district. Moreover, the civil police arrested a civilian from Shikhoutka in the same district. However, the reasons behind the arrest of the two civilians remained unknown.

 

On December 12, a patrol of military police arrested a civilian from Amara village also in Maabatli district for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration” with the aim to collect levies.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that a patrol of the military police stormed two houses in Maabatli district on December 12, arresting two civilians for unknown reasons.

 

On the other hand, the military police asked the family of a civilian from Kayla village in Bulbul district, who had been arrested three months ago for “participating in guard shifts during the Autonomous Administration control of Afrin”, to pay a ransom of 5,000 USD in return for his release.
