Fifth pushback of US patrols in December | Regime loyalists and NDF block US patrol in Al-Qamishli

Al-Hasakah province, SOHR activists have reported that regime-backed National Defense Forces with the participation of some regime loyalists have prevented a US patrol from passing through Mansaf Tahtani village in Tel Tamr countryside, northwest of Hasakah.

According to SOHR activists, this is the fifth time for US patrols to be blocked in that region in December.

Yesterday, regime soldiers intercepted a US convoy in the villages of Tal Al-Dhahab and Al-Salihiya in Al-Hasakah countryside.

On December 16, SOHR activists reported that regime-backed National Defense Forces with the participation of some regime loyalists stationed at a checkpoint in Al-Damakhiah Saghira village in Al-Qamishli countryside prevented a US patrol from passing through the village.

This patrol comprised five armoured vehicles and two helicopters. No quarrels with the residents or NDF were erupted.

According to SOHR activists, this is the third time for US patrols to be blocked in that region in December.

On December 14, SOHR activists reported that members of the regime-backed “National Defense Forces (NDF) stationed at checkpoint in Tel Al-Dhahab village in the southern countryside of Al-Qamishli city intercepted a US patrol of five armoured vehicles and prevented it from passing through the village.

While on December 11, SOHR activists reported that a US patrol of five armoured vehicles was blocked by the pro-regime residents of Al-Matineya village in south-east Al-Qamishly countryside and pelted the US vehicles with stones, forcing the patrol to change its way to Al-Qamishli city.
