A few days after having reopened | Regime forces close key crossing in Al-Raqqah

Al-Raqqah province: Syrian Observatory activists have reported that regime forces have closed Al-Tabaqah crossing today. Last week, Al-Tabaqah crossing in the south-western countryside of Al-Raqqah and Al-Akrishi crossing in south-east Al-Raqqah countryside had been closed for hours. The two crossings connect SDF-held areas and regime controlled areas.

 

This comes after the large wave of displacement from regime-controlled areas to SDF-controlled areas, via Al-Tabaqah crossing, due to the dire living conditions in areas controlled by the Syrian regime.

 

Al-Tabaqah crossing is the artery between north-west Syria region and middle Syria, where trucks carrying crude oil, agricultural and industrial products and medicine pass through that crossing every day. Moreover, the crossing is the only one available for commercial movement between regime-controlled areas and SDF-held areas in that region.
