Second day in row | Explosion heard in Al-Qamilishli city caused by regime military exercises

 

Al-Hasakah province: Explosions have been heard in Al-Qamishli city for the second consecutive day, caused by live-fire exercises conducted by regime forces inside “Tartab regiment” nearby Zanoud neighborhood, south of Qamishili city.

On May 16, SOHR activists in Al-Qamishli city reported hearing loud explosions in the southern part of the city, exactly the regime forces’ Tartab Military Regiment, where Russian forces were carrying out military training exercises since early morning, with the participation of helicopters. These exercises ignited panic among the residents.

It is worth noting that this is the first time for carrying out military exercises by Russian forces in al-Qamishli, using live ammunition. Meanwhile, Russian helicopters were seen flying over the villages of Jam’aya, Khaled Kulu and Qarrah Hasan in al-Qamishli countryside near the Syria-Turkey border.
