Anti-ISIS campaign | Regime brings in new military reinforcement, while Russian jets hit ISIS hideouts

SOHR sources reported that new military reinforcements of the regime forces have arrived in Deir Ezzor and Al-Raqqa deserts, as part of preparations by the regime forces, accompanied by militants loyal to them, to launch a new campaign against ISIS cells.

Regime campaign is scheduled to begin its attack from two areas, the first from south and west of Al-Raqqa set off from Al-Rusafah desert to Maskanah district in the countryside of Aleppo, and the second area from Al-Bashari mountains towards the western region of Deir Ezzor.

It is worth noting that these campaigns were postponed several times due to pre-emptive attacks and attacks on rearguard by ISIS cells, whose activity has risen recently.

While Russian fighter jets carried out several airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in Al-Raqqa and Deir Ezzor deserts on this morning.

Yesterday, Observatory sources reported that ISIS cells attacked posts of “Al-Qatarji” militia and National Defense Forces in the vicinity of Al-Kharata oil field in south-west Deir Ezzor desert on Sunday evening. According to Syrian Observatory sources, ISIS attack left 12 members of “Al-Qatarji militias and NDF wounded. “Al-Qatarji” and NDF members had withdrawn after regime forces’ support arrived and warplanes intervened.
