Escorted by International Coalition helicopters | SDF arrests six people on charges of ISIS link in east Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Reliable SOHR sources have reported that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) escorted by International Coalition helicopters, have conducted raid on Jadeed Okiydat town in east Deir Ezzor, in the early hours of Thursday, and arrested six persons on charges of belonging to ISIS.

On December 13, The Syrian Observatory obtained new details on a security campaign by the SDF and International Coalition Forces in Al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to SOHR sources, the campaign targeted several suspects accused of “dealing in weapons and belonging to ISIS”, while one of the sons of the teacher, who was killed during the campaign, was among the targeted suspects. The young man refused to surrender and attempted to escape with his brother-in-law on a motorcycle, before Coalition soldiers on a helicopter shot the two persons dead.

Meanwhile, the military groups participating in the campaign stormed the house of the teacher, drove the teacher and his other son out and executed them by firing squad.

Accordingly, the number of people killed during the security campaign jumped to four: a teacher, two of his sons and their brother-in-law.

It is also worth noting that the people arrested during the security campaign included arm dealers and civilians.

Earlier, SOHR activists reported an airdrop by International Coalition Forces in Al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor with the participation of an SDF-backed military group. The security groups surrounded Al-Busayrah city, asking some civilians to surrender using loudspeakers, before sound of gunfire and explosions of unknown origin was heard. It is not known yet whether the gunfire was caused by exchange of fire between the two sides or by the security forces alone.

According to SOHR sources, SDF and Coalition Forces shot dead a teacher from Abriyah area and two of his sons, and arrested many people on charges of “dealing and belonging to ISIS.”
