Renewed bombardment | Turkish forces shell villages in Al-Hasakah countryside, after 48 hours of tense calm

Al-Hasakah province: Turkish forces renewed artillery fire on Abu Rasin countryside “Zarkan” in the northern-western countryside of Al-Hasakah, after tense calm in that region for 48 hours. According to SOHR sources, Turkish forces fired several artillery shells on Al-Asadiyyah and Al-Khadrawi villages, along with flights by Turkish reconnaissance drones of the area.

On December 22, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that a woman sustained injuries, after artillery shells fired by Turkish forces hit the centre of Abu Raseen town (Zarkan). Also, a woman was injured in a similar bombardment on Tel Al-Ward village in Abu Raseen countryside in Al-Hasakah countryside.

It is worth noting that the town and surrounding villages was under heavy bombardment by Turkish forces, amid response by SDF and regime forces stationed in that region. In addition, sporadic clashes with medium weapons erupted between Turkish-backed factions and SDF on frontlines of Ras Al-Ain and Tel Tamr in Al-Hasakah countryside.

Meanwhile, Turkish forces renewed their attacks with heavy and medium weapons Abu Raseen town and countryside this evening, targeting positions in Abu Raseen hill, Harmala Dada Abdal, Al-Rebay’at, Azzoz farm, Khadrawi, Matmourah, Boby and Nuwayhat.

A few hours earlier, SOHR activists reported sporadic clashes between SDF on one hand, and Turkish forces and their proxy factions on the other, on frontlines of Umm Al-Kif village in the countryside of Tel Tamr, north of Al-Hasakah.
