SOHR: The people of Deir ez-Zor prevent a Russian convoy from crossing..and the coalition is interfering

While the people gathered near the Salhiya crossing, which links the SDF-controlled areas with the regime-controlled areas in Syria, preventing a Russian convoy from crossing their areas and villages under the control of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council forces, affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces, a convoy of the international coalition headed to the area in order to solve the problem.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the people prevented the Russian convoy from crossing their lands from Ain Issa district, north of Raqqa.

They also blocked the crossing with burning tires and some scrap.

The observatory published a video clip showing the Al-Salihiya crossing being cut with tires and earth mounds by the people of Deir ez-Zor to prevent the crossing of a Russian convoy, while Russian helicopters took off from Deir ez-Zor airport.

The clip showed Russian aircraft flying at a low altitude in the area, among the people, preventing the convoy from entering.

Not the first time

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time. On November 20, the observatory indicated that the coalition forces intervened after the people of the area refused the Russian patrols to pass.

At that time, American forces arrived at the Al-Maamal Roundabout area, north of Deir ez-Zor, to calm the situation, coinciding with the flight of Russian warplanes over the area.

Column shooting

On the same day, a convoy of Russian forces, consisting of 4 armored vehicles, accompanied by helicopters, came under fire while passing on Abu Khashab Road, heading towards the Salhiya crossing, which connects the SDF-controlled areas with the regime-controlled areas north of Deir ez-Zor.

This targeting did not result in any casualties, but dozens of people set tires on fire at the Al-Maamal roundabout near the Al-Salhiya crossing, as an expression of their refusal to pass the Russian convoys from the area.
