Security chaos in SDF-held areas | Gunmen assassinate commander in Hajin Military Council in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that an SDF commander was killed in an attack with machineguns and “RPG” shells by undefined gunmen on the headquarters of the SDF-backed Hajin Military Council in Zeban town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Meanwhile, the attackers managed to escaped.

In this context, SDF military forces imposed a curfew in the town and brought in military reinforcement.

It is worth noting that SDF-held areas witness escalation of ISIS cells’ attacks which target civilians and military personnel.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that unidentified gunmen opened machineguns fire on the “traffic police” headquarters in Jazra Al-Bouhmed in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. However, no casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, SDF military forces launched a security campaign in the town in response of the attack.

As more fatalities are recorded and updated regularly, the number of people who were killed in areas within the four provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah, in addition to the SDF-held area of Manbij in the north-east of Aleppo rose to 855 fighters, civilians, oil workers, and officials in service parties.
The Syrian Observatory documented the assassination of 317 civilians including 20 children and 20 women by armed cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah countryside, al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. In addition, 534 SDF fighters, including local leaders, were assassinated in the same areas.
Also, four members of International Coalition were killed. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Human also documented tens of injuries due to these assassinations.
