Countering ISIS | “4th division” brings military reinforcements to Palmyra and Russian jets hit ISIS hideouts in Al-Raqqa desert

SOHR activists monitored the arrival of “4th Division” military reinforcements to Palmyra and its surroundings, east of Homs, to repel ISIS’s new plan to attack military positions of the regime forces and Iranian-backed militias in the vicinity of Palmyra in the celebration of New Year’s Day.

Meanwhile, Russian fighter jets have carried out nearly eight airstrikes in ISIS hideouts in Al-Rusafa desert northeast of Al-Raqqa.

On December 25, SOHR reported that Russian fighter jets bombed ISIS hideouts in Sokhna desert, east of Homs. No casualties were reported.
