Selling people properties | Store sold in Al-Ashrafiyah while thousands of fruit-bearing trees felled in Bulbul district

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that the “National Army” factions in “Olive Branch” area keep taking over and trading in civilian properties and destroy the vegetation cover via felling olive trees to loot olive harvest and sell wood for heating purposes.

On the same context, members of Al-Hamza Division, which controls Ma’ratah village, have felled over 200 olive trees that belonged to two civilians from Ma’ratah village in Afrin countryside for material benefit, where one ton of logs costs 125 to 150 U.S dollars.

It is worth noting that “National Army” factions keep trading with properties stolen from Afrin displaced civilians. SOHR sources reported that Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyah faction sold a commercial store in Al-Ashrafiyah district that belonged to a civilian from Rajo district for 2,000 U.S dollars.

While in “Shinkal” village in Bulbul district, “Ahfad Muhammad” faction took over more than 2,950 olive trees that belonged to eight displaced civilians under the “Olive Branch” operation.

On 2018, authorizations granted by relatives of displaced civilians were canceled by local councils, under the pretext that land owners are living in Kurdish-held areas in the northern Aleppo countryside.
