Death toll update | Three children and woman killed in Russian airstrikes on displaced people’s tent in Jisr Al-Shughur countryside

 

Idlib province: Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of a child who succumbed to his injuries due to Russian airstrikes that targeted makeshift tents housing displaced people from the countryside of Aleppo, in Al-Nahr Al-Abyad area in the countryside of the northern city of Jisr Al-Shughour, west of Idlib, bringing the death toll of Russian airstrikes on the first day of New Year 2022 to four, “three children and a woman.”

SOHR activists have just reported the death of a woman and two children and the injury of ten others, including children in airstrikes carried out by Russian fighter jets which hit makeshift tents of displaced people from Aleppo countryside in Al-Nahr Al-Abyad area in the countryside of the northern city of Jisr Al-Shughur, West of Idlib since the early hours of Saturday morning.

Russian fighter jets also have bombed more than 12 areas in the vicinity of Idlib city and Jabal Al-Zawiyah south of Idlib.

“Al-Fath Al-Mubin” faction has counterattacked Russian airstrikes by firing intensive rockets on the regime’s positions in Jorin area of Hama countryside and the vicinity of Maarat al-Numan in the southern Idlib countryside.

Yesterday, Russia concluded the last day of 2021 with four raids on Putin-Erdogan” area, targeting the outskirts of the western city of Idlib and Kansafra town, and the vicinity of Jadidah village in Idlib countryside.

On December 31, SOHR sources reported that Russian fighter jets have executed airstrikes on Idlib countryside, targeting positions in Kansafra, Al-Bara in Jabal Al-Zawiyah, the surrounding areas of Kafr Daryan in the northern countryside of Idlib, the surrounding areas of Al-Jadidah town in the northern countryside of Idlib in the north of Jisr Al-Shughour city and Al-Namerah area in Sahl Al-Rouj in Idlib countryside.

 

It is worth noting that the airstrikes which targeted a “poultry farm” nearby Kafr Daryan on the Syria border with Iskenderun left two civilians dead and six others injured.
