RPG attack | Unidentified gunmen attack SDF checkpoint in Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that unknown gunmen on a motorbike targeted with RPGs a checkpoint of SDF in Al-Sanour junction in Abo Hamam town in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside. However no causalities have been reported, while attackers escaped to unknown destination.
It is worth noting that, SDF-held areas witness escalation of ISIS cells’ attacks which target civilians and military personnel.
On December 29, SOHR sources reported that an unidentified gunman, believed to be of ISIS cells was killed in clashes with members of Hajin Military Council in Al-Jerzi town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The clashes erupted evening after unknown gunmen attacked military vehicle of Hajin Military Council.
On December 27, SOHR reported that an SDF commander was killed in an attack with machineguns and “RPG” shells by undefined gunmen on the headquarters of the SDF-backed Hajin Military Council in Zeban town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Meanwhile, the attackers managed to escape.
