West Euphrates region | Iranian-backed militias glorify and remind of Soleimani’s “sacrifices in Syria”

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that Iranian-backed militias have held a celebration commemorating the second anniversary of the death of the former IRGC-Quds Force commander “Qassem Soleimani” in the security zone in Al-Temu neighbourhood in Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor in west Euphrates region, the Iranian “autonomous colony” in Syria.

 

The celebration was attended by the militias’ commanders, chiefs of security branches in the area, members of the Qatari leadership of Al-Baath Party and the head of the city’s municipality, where several tents were set up and a large post of Soleimani was fixed. During the celebration, speeches were given glorifying Qassem Soleimani’s role and efforts in defeating terrorism in Syria, as his affiliates described.

 

On the other hand, the Iranian-backed militias of the 47th Division in Al-Bokamal n eastern Deir Ezzor also commemorated the anniversary of Soleimani’s by lighting candles in the main road to Al-Qa’em crossing on the Syria-Iraq border.

 

Observatory activists had reported seeing Iranian-backed militias in areas under their control being put on high alert, fearing expected attacks.
