Minor girl kidnaped in Al-Raqqa | Relatives appeal “Al-Shabibah Al-Thawriyah” to release their daughter

SOHR activists have reported that “Al-Shabibah Al-Thawriyah” members have kidnapped a 16-year-old girl who had been displaced from Manbij to Al-Raqqa city, and took her to their camps. Meanwhile the girl’s relatives demanded Al-Shabibah Al-Thawriyah release her without receiving a respond to their demand yet.

This is the first kidnap case of minors SOHR documented against Al-Shabibah Al-Thawriyah in 2022.

On December 22, SOHR activists reported that the relatives of a minor girl from Tel Shiren village one kilometer to the east of Al-Dirbasiyah started a sit-in protest in front of the gate of the Women’s Protection offices demanding take back their 16-year-old daughter from Al-Shabibah Al-Thawriyah camps.

The minor girl known by her initials as A. L. used to frequent Al-Dirbasiyah city to receive training courses for the baccalaureate certificate, but she was lured by Al-Shabibah Al-Thawriyah and joined their ranks.

Following these events, the mother, aunts and brothers of the girl went out to protest in front of the headquarters of Women’s Protection Units, while Asayish Forces prevented the relatives from approaching the offices, along with attempts by members of the SDF and Asayesh-backed Local Council of Al-Dirbasiyah city to put an end to the protests. However, the relatives refused to break up the protests and the mother threatened to set herself on fire.

While one of the security forces threatened to defame the girl in case the relatives didn’t leave, so the family ended protests to preserve the reputation of their daughter amid cries by the women who described the authorities as “infidels and tyrants”.
