Gross material losses | Russian airstrikes on barns and poultry farm in “de-escalation zone” kill 26,000 birds, cows and sheep

Since Russian fighter jets started to target poultry farm in “de-escalation zone” in September 2021, they have destroyed ten poultry farms and killed 26,000 birds, cows and sheep and other animals that were in the targeted farms.

 

With the high cost of incubators need for producing chicken, many farmers have turned to keep livestock in their poultry farm.

 

Here is a summery of the Russian airstrikes on poultry farm in the past four months:

 

  • September 4: Russian jets struck a poultry farm in Al-Rami village in Jabal Al-Zawiyah, killing 9,000 birds.

 

  • September 15: A poultry farm near Zarzour town in western Idlib was struck.

 

  • November 6: Russian airstrikes hit a poultry farm in Shaderni village in Jisr Al-Shughour countryside, killing a herd of cows.

 

  • November 11: Russian fighter jets attacked a poultry farm in the north of Idlib city, killing displaced civilians.

 

  • December 25: A poultry farm nearby Maarrat Misrin city came under attack by Russian jets, which caused material damage.

 

  • December 26: A poultry farm in Darat Izza was attacked.

 

  • December 31: Russian jets executed airstrikes on a poultry farm in Muhanbil and another one in Kafr Daryan town in Idlib countryside, which killed civilians.

 

  • January 2: 3,000 birds were killed in Russian airstrikes on a poultry farm nearby Idlib city.

 

  • January 14: Russian jets targeted a poultry farm in the east of Kafr Takharim city, which injured civilians and killed 14,000 birds.
