Iranian orders | Regime security arrest nearly 15 persons for “spying for International Coalition” in Deir Ezzor, and explosions heard on Euphrates banks

Deir Ezzor province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that regime security services, upon orders of Iran-backed factions, have executed raids and arrests in areas under their control in east Deir Ezzor countryside.

The regime security services have arrested at least 16 persons, including two women. In Al-Mahkan and Al-Qouriyah regions, seven persons were arrested while in Al-Bukamal neighborhood nine persons were arrested on charges of “espionage and dealing with the International Coalition.”

On the other hand, violent explosions were heard in the early hours of Wednesday in areas under control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the International Coalition in east Deir Ezzor, in east bank of Euphrates River near areas under control of Iran-backed factions on the other bank of the river where sound of other explosions were heard. But, reasons behind the blast remained unknown.

Yesterday, SOHR reported that unknown drones conducted raids on hideouts of Iranian loyal factions in the vicinity of Mazaraa neighbourhood, Mazar Ain Aly that is stationed on the outskirts of Al-Qouriyah city in Al-Esharah desert in east Deir Ezzor.

The attacks were escorted by International Coalition fighter jets flying over the region, but no casualties were reported.

It is worth noting that this is the first attack of its kind in 2022.

A day earlier, SOHR reported that Iranian-backed factions were on high alert and deployed their forces in west Euphrates fearing any possible attacks against their positions.
