Aleppo | Turkish forces targets Kurdish forces-held areas in Afrin

Aleppo province: Reliable sources informed SOHR that rocket fire, coming from the Turkish base in Azaz, targeted two villages of Shawarghah and Malikah in Sheran district in Afrin City countryside in areas under the Kurdish forces-held areas. No casualties have been reported yet.

On January 6, SOHR sources reported that Turkish forces started a day earlier to bring in large cement blocks to Azaz in northern Aleppo, preparing to construct a wall of two kilometres long and four metres high from the national hospital on the outskirts of Azaz city to Al-Shatt checkpoint on Azaz-Afrin highway.

According to SOHR sources, Turkish forces started to construct the wall, using large cranes, as soon as the cement blocks had arrived. Construction work is conducted at night, fearing attacks by Kurdish forces which are deployed in Mar’anaz, Ain Daqnah and Al-Malikiyyah villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo, nearly 500 metres away from the highway between Azaz and Afrin.
