Backed by International Coalition | Rapid Intervention Forces arrest ISIS commander in Al-Hasakah countryside

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that the Rapid Intervention Forces have arrested an ISIS commander, with support by International Coalition aircraft, in Al-Rashidiyah village in Al-Shadadi countryside in Al-Hasakah province.

According to sources, the commander used to finance and recruit people to ISIS, where he was caught with documents, technical tools and mobiles in his possession.

On January 5, SOHR sources reported that an IED exploded in a military vehicle of the border guards of the Self-Defence Forces on the road between Al-Hawl and Al-Ya’rabiyah in north-eastern Al-Hasakah. However, no casualties were reported.

It is worth noting that SDF-held areas experienced alarming increase in ISIS attacks which target civilians and combatants.

On December 22, SOHR activists reported that SDF arrested an ISIS member, while he was driving a booby-trapped car, “Kia” make, loaded with weapons in Al-Dashisha area in Al-Hasakah countryside, and took him to their security centre.

While on December 15, SOHR activists documented the death of two commanders of the Kurdish forces, a Turkish-born commander and another commander from Afrin, and their escort in a landmine explosion in the car they were traveling in Al-Shaddadi area in Al-Hasakah countryside.
