Protests in Al-Raqqa | Internal Security Forces disperse protestors by force, leaving child dead and others injured

SOHR activists have documented the death of a child and injury of others by indiscriminate gunfire by the Internal Security Forces “Asayesh”, while disperse protestors demanding improvement of living conditions in Al-Suwaydiyah town in Al-Raqqa countryside.

Asayesh Forces brought in huge military reinforcement, imposed curfew in Al-Suwadiyah town and launched a large-scale security campaigns, arresting over 20 civilians, while a military vehicle unintentionally hit a child.

On December 7, SOHR activists reported that demonstrations continue for the second consecutive day in Abu Hamam town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the protestors called for the improvement of living and service conditions and the release of detainees in SDF prisons.

SOHR activists reported that two demonstrations took place in Shuaitat area in Abu Hammam town and Ghranij town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the demonstrators demanded the release of detainees, the improvement of services and living conditions, and holding of corrupt officials in local councils accountable.
