Ongoing violations in Afrin | Ankara-backed factions arrest three civilians

Aleppo province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that a patrol of the military police has arrested in the past few hours two civilians from Baadanly village in Maabatly district in Afrin neighborhood, in northwest Aleppo on charges of dealing with the former Autonomous Administration to collect ransom.

Meanwhile, another patrol affiliated to Al-Sham Corps loyal to the Turkish Intelligence services, has arrested a civilian from Midaan Akbas village in Raju neighborhood in the past few days, but his charges remained unknown.

Yesterday, SOHR reliable sources reported that a patrol of Turkish-backed “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” faction arrested a civilian from Badanli village in Maabatli district for unknown reasons, demanding his family to pay a ransom of one million Syrian pounds for his release.

On January 9, SOHR activists reported that a military police patrol arrested a resident from Hajiku village in Raju district in Afrin countryside on charges of “going out in guard shifts” during the Autonomous Administration’s control of Afrin city.

Jaish Al-Islam faction also illegally arrested a civilian from Afrin for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration” and collected a ransom for his release.
