Taking advantage of foggy weather | ISIS fighters kill and wound ten regime soldiers east of Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have documented the death of three regime soldiers and the injury of five others, as ISIS fighters have taken advantage of the foggy weather and waged an offensive on positions of regime soldiers on the outskirts of Kashmah town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to the Syrian Observatory, the death toll of regime soldiers by ISIS combatants in the Syrian desert since the beginning of 2022 has risen to 15

On January 6, three regime soldiers were killed as ISIS fighters fired bullets and RPGs on a car they were travelling in Al-Rusafa desert northeast of Al-Raqqa.

On January 3, ISIS members carried out a new ambush in the Syrian desert, targeting a regime forces’ military convoy of consisting of several vehicles, within the administrative boundary between eastern Homs desert and eastern Deir Ezzor desert, in oil pumping stations”T 2, T 3” areas, SOHR activists said.

ISIS ambush killed nine regime soldiers, Fifth Corps, and other militias and wounded 15 others.

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1631 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least three Russians, and 165 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings, and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, and Aleppo.

Also, four civilians working in gas fields, tens of shepherds, and other civilians were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 1,117 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardments in the same period.
