Violations in Afrin | National Army factions loot properties, fell trees and impose levies

Aleppo Province: SOHR activists have reported that factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” continue their violations in Afrin by illegal sales and looting of civilian properties, cutting down olive trees, and sabotage natural resources for financial benefit.

In this context, members of Turkish-backed factions cut down hundreds of olive trees in Jendires district in  Afrin countryside, in the past hours.

According to SOHR sources, members of Al-Hamza  Division and the Samarkand Brigade, who control Hammam and Meska towns  in Jendires district, hired displaced workers to cut down hundreds of olive trees and loaded them in cars used for farming purposes to be sold in Idlib markets. It is worth noting that  these violations happen in full view of Turkish forces and military police checkpoints.

Meanwhile, Nour Al-Din Al-Zanki faction felled more than 50 olive trees belonged to a civilian from Al-Raf’ateyh village in Jendires district, after he refused to pay a levy to Nour al-Din al-Zanki faction.

The faction also threatened to cut down olive trees of the residents for refusing to pay levies.

Meanwhile, Al-Jabah Al-shamyah faction felled down over 85 olive trees belonged to a civilian in Qarah Jarnrah in Sharan district, where the faction uprooted 25 trees completely, and partially cut down 50 trees to sell them as fire logs.

Moreover, “Abu Islam” who is a security in the economic office of the Sham Corps, which is close to the Turkish intelligence, seized dozens of hectares of agricultural land and olive trees in Mydanki Akbis  and  Kawanda Dodo and planted the land with wheat and barley. This land belonged to six civilians from Rajo district. Also, the faction’s members threatened to punish the residents if they filed complaints to the “Right Restitution Committee”

On the other hand, Al-Jabah Al-Shamyah faction took over a house by force in Al-Ashrafieh neighbourhood  in Afrin city after two days of the death of its owner.

Moreover, Al-Jabah Al-Shamyah also sold a house in Al-Ashrafieh neighbourhood belonged to a civilian from Raja village in Ma’abatly district for $900.

 
Furthermore, In Ma’abatly district, Al-Sultan Murad faction seized a civilian car belonged to a civilian from Simalka village in Ma’abtaly district, after he stopped providing the faction with information about the residents of the village.
