Ongoing insecurity | Unknown gunmen kill one person near Al-Hawl camp

After being lost for three days, reliable sources have informed SOHR of finding a body of a man from Al-Sousah town in east Deir Ezzor countryside who has been shot dead by unknown gunmen near Al-Hawl camp in south-east Al-Hasakah countryside. The victim is not belonging to any faction and was working a truck driver.

On January 11, SOHR sources reported that a surgery physician from Al-Salihiya town, was killed in Al-Dabjan Hospital in Al-Tayanah twon in east Deir Ezzor countryside by unknown gunmen, but reasons behind the attack remained unknown.

This comes amid the prevalent insecurity in areas under control of the Syrian democratic forces (SDF).

As more fatalities are recorded and updated regularly, the number of people who were killed in areas within the four provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah, in addition to the SDF-held area of Manbij in the north-east of Aleppo rose to 857 fighters, civilians, oil workers, and officials in service parties.

The Syrian Observatory documented the assassination of 319 civilians including 20 children and 20 women by armed cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah countryside, al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. In addition, 513 SDF fighters, including local leaders, were assassinated in the same areas.
