Coronavirus in regime-controlled areas |Over 110,000 new cases and over 900 deaths, while misinformation continues by regime

As SOHR continues monitoring and tracking the escalating number of coronavirus cases and deaths in regime-held areas, reliable medical sources in regime-controlled areas have confirmed that nearly 112,000 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the past few days, while 908 other cases died of the virus in the same period.

Meanwhile, regime authorities continue misinformation and keeping the real number of deaths and infection cases with coronavirus secret. Moreover, large number of deaths are claimed to be caused by pneumonia, despite the broad outbreak of the virus throughout Syria, especially with the intense care sections in Damascus has reached their full operational capacity. Furthermore, no information has been reported about the vaccine delivered to Syria and the vaccination mechanism.

According to SOHR latest statistics, based on reports obtained from reliable medical sources on the ground in regime-controlled areas, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases exceeded 7,000,000, of whom 6,450,000 recovered, and 47,950 died.

It is worth noting that regime Ministry of Health’ official statistics announced 50,646 infections, of whom 2,941 people died and 34,194 recovered.

It is also worth noting that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of 211 doctors in the Syrian regime-held areas due to coronavirus, and they were documented by names, among them there were 172 doctors who died in 2020.
