Rising tension | “National Army” factions put on high alert in Afrin

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported seeing Turkish-backed factions on high alert in several areas in Afrin canton in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

 

According to SOHR sources, large reinforcement of Liwaa Al-Samarqand, Liwaa Suqur Al-Shamal, Al-Hamzah Division, Sultan Murad Division and gunmen of Al-Mawali tribe have arrived in that region to support Al-Amshat faction against “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah” and the Third Corps, after Al-Amshat factions had prevented villages’ elder in Sheikh Hadeed district from leaving the district to Afrin, so that they could not reach the committee investigating the violations committed by Al-Amshat. It is worth noting that this committee is entrusted to investigate the cases of taking over civilian properties by forces and imposition of levies.

 

Meanwhile, Sultan Murad Division has sent large reinforcement from Maydanki in Sharran district to Sheikh Hadeed district, amid calls by the commander of Suleiman Shah faction upon the factions’ members to head to be deployed throughout Sheikh Hadeed district and the villages of Jaqla Fuqani, Jaqla Wastani, Jaqla Tahtani, Al-Kana and Khalil.

 

On the other hand, the factions of Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah, Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah and the military police have put on high alert in “Olive Branch” area. Moreover, a commander in the council of Al-Mawali tribe known as “Abu Zidan” threatened to launch a comprehensive war against “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah”, if “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah” attacked Suleiman Shah faction. While a state of tension is growing.
