45 airstrikes on Syrian desert since morning bring the number of Russian airstrikes in January to nearly 294

SOHR activists have reported that the number of airstrikes carried out by Russian fighter jets on the Syrian desert  since morning has risen to 45. It is worth noting that the aerial attacks were concentrated  on Al-Rasafah and Al-Soukhna deserts.  However, no casualties have been reported. 

Accordingly, the number of airstrikes executed by Russian fighter jets on the Syrian desert since the beginning of January 2022 has exceeded 294.

Yesterday, Observatory activists reported that the number of airstrikes carried out by Russian fighter jets on the Syrian desert since morning rose to 21. It is worth noting that the aerial attacks were concentrated  on positions in Al-Rasafah desert in the administrative borders with Al-Raqqa  and Deir Ezzor desert. 

 

SOHR sources  reported that regime forces, backed by National Defence Forces (NDF), launched a new combing campaign this morning in Al-Duwayr desert near Al-Bokamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, searching for ISIS members whose attacks have noticeably increased since early January. The combing operation is accompanied by air support by Russian fighter jets which have struck ISIS hideouts and positions in Deir Ezzor and Al-Raqqah deserts.
