Escorted by Russian patrols | “National Defense Forces” deploy in several neighbourhoods in Deir Ezzor, checking passers-by IDs

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that Russian and “National Defense Forces” patrols deployed in several neighbourhoods of Deir Al-Atiq and Al-Houd Street in the center of Deir Ezzor city, checking the IDs of all passers-by for unknow reasons.

On January 14, SOHR sources reported that regime security services arrested over 42 people of those who have accepted the recent reconciliation deals which were conducted in the villages of Al-Meray’iyah, Al-Jafrah, Al-Bolail, Al-Zabari and Al-Mohasan in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. According to SOHR sources, these people were arrested for evading mandatory conscription in regime army, as the latest reconciliations could not prevent prosecution. It is worth noting that the regime security campaign is still ongoing, amid reports on more arrests. Meanwhile, several young and adult men have fled to SDF-held areas.
