Abducted in high-security zone held by regime in Daraa | Young man released after paying 100 million Syrian pounds

Daraa province: Kidnappers have released a young man known by his initials as M. K. From Al-Ghariyah Al-Gharbiyah town in the eastern countryside of Daraa, after getting a ransom of 100 million Syrian pounds.

On December 21, the young man was abducted when he was on his way to Daraa city, where the young man was released after over 20-day negotiations between the young man’s relatives and the kidnappers. The two sides agreed that the family of the young man would pay 100 million Syrian pounds for his release.

According to Syrian Observatory activists, following the abduction of the young man in late 2021, he was transferred to a flat in Al-Salhiya neighbourhood at the western entrance to Daraa in high-security zone which is fully under the control of regime forces.
