Anti-ISIS campaign | Russian jets squadron consecutively bomb ISIS hideouts in Syrian desert

Since the early hours of Monday morning, a squadron of Russian fighter jets, comprising nearly ten jets, has consecutively bombed ISIS hideouts and caves in Al-Rasafa desert in Al-Raqqa countryside, and in Al-Ashara and Al-Quriyah deserts in Deir Ezzor countryside, passing through Hama-Aleppo-Al-Raqqa triangle and reaching the eastern Homs desert, where Russian fighter jets have carried out more than 30 airstrikes so far.

This bombardment has coincided with the arrival of further military reinforcements to expand their campaign in search of ISIS cells which their activity has recently increased in the region.

Yesterday, Reliable sources informed SOHR that Russian fighter jets executed over 40 airstrikes on positions in the Syrian desert, where the airstrikes have concentrated on Al-Rasafah desert in Al-Raqqah countryside.

Accordingly, the number of airstrikes executed by Russian fighter jets on the Syrian desert since the beginning of January 2022 has exceeded 365.
