Evading clarifying the “cost” | Luna Al-Shibl, Special Advisor to Al-Assad, praises Russia’s contribution to break the siege imposed on Syria

In an interview with the Russian TV channel “RT”, the Special Advisor to Bashar Al-Assad, Luna Al-Shibl has stated that Syria managed, with the help of Russia, to impose the siege imposed on it. However, Al-Shibl evaded to disclose the way Russia and Syrian regime broke this siege.

It is worth noting that Russia has the largest military base in Syria and controls Tartus harbour overlooking the Mediterranean sea, as well as its investment in oil and energy businesses and phosphate, fertilizers, agriculture research, livestock and fishery resources. Moreover, Russia is attempting to dominate Latakia harbour where Russian patrols were conducted on January 18.

The Special Advisor of the Syrian Presidency attacked the Turkish government and its policy, she said “we reject every entity believing in or adopting the ‘brotherhood Ottoman’ ideology. We distinguish between Erdogan’s government and the Turkish people. The Turkish government is lying as Turkey does not shell Kurdish armed groups, as it claims, but it attack innocent civilians. Turkey also orders its proxy factions to change the demography of Syrian areas under its control.”

Al-Shibl also commented on the issue of the “Federal System”, claiming that it is related to the Syrian constitution, which means that it is passed through the constitution voted on by Syrian people.

Al-Shibl also commented on the work of the Constitutional Commission, saying “the commission’s work is stagnant due to the foreign intervention. Damascus is proceeding with every efforts that may put an end to the bloodshed in Syria. The Syrian regime is open to all initiatives and dialogues when the other side shows a real desire to reach a settlement without any foreign intervention.
