Al-Hasakah province: SOHR sources have reported clashes with machineguns among the factions of the “National Army” in Ras Al-Ain city “Sere Kaniye” in the north-western countryside of Al-Hasakah countryside in “Peace Spring” area.
According to SOHR sources, the clashes erupted this evening between members of Al-Hamza Division and the military police following disagreements over revenue-sharing of smuggling of people business.
The clashes left a member of Al-Hamza Division injured, while the military police managed to seize a gun and a van belonging to Al-Hamza Division.
It is worth noting that clashes often occur among the factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” due to disputes over the use of routes used for helping people to sneak into Turkey in return for large sums of money.
On January 17, SOHR sources reported that Turkish-backed “military police” continued to imprison two girls from Deir Ezzor province arrested nearly ten days earlier. The two victims were arrested by Al-Hamza Division while trying to sneak into Turkey from Abu Saun village in Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) city in Al-Hasakah countryside, then they were held in military police detention centres for unknown reasons.
On January 8, SOHR activists in “Peace Spring” area that is under the control of Turkish forces and their proxy factions reported that Al-Hamza Division arrested two girls from Deir Ezzor province, while they were attempting to reach Turkey with the help of migrant smugglers from Abu Al-Soun village in the countryside of Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) in Al-Hasakah countryside.
It is worth noting that National Army factions were engaged in smuggling people and goods between areas under their control and that of other forces in Syria, as they take huge sums of money.
Ankara factions-held areas already witnessed violent clashes between factions, which left victims due to disputes over smuggling routes and sharing of levies and profits.
