Accused of “dealing with ISIS and Kurdish forces” | “Military police” arrest civilians and wound young man in Azaz city north of Aleppo

Aleppo province: Military police patrols carried out a raid and arrest campaign against civilians and displaced persons in Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo for “belonging to ISIS cells and dealing with Kurdish forces” yesterday evening.

According to Syrian Observatory activists, “Military police” deployed several roadblocks at the exits and entrances to Azaz city and arrested a number of people, while a young man was wounded by gunfire by military police.

On January 8, clashes erupted between armed groups of Al-Khatib family, which is affiliated to Luwaa Al-Waqqas, near Al-Goma’a market in Marae’a city in the northern Aleppo countryside, according to SOHR sources.

The police cordoned off the area of clashes to break them up and arrested the shooter. Reasons behind the clashes remained unknown.
