Security campaign | SDF Counter-Terrorism Units arrest ex-ISIS member in eastern Aleppo

SOHR sources have reported that Counter-Terrorism Units have stormed the house of an ex-ISIS member in Madnah Kabeer village in the west of Manbij city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. Meanwhile, three members of the security forces were injured due to desperate resistance by the former ISIS member.

According to SOHR sources, the security forces found several weapons, including a gun stolen from a guard who had been subjected to an assassination attempt, in the house of the targeted member.

It is worth noting that the arrested member had been released from Al-Raqqah prison after mediation by tribes’ elders and dignitaries.

On January 18, reliable sources informed SOHR that SDF Special Units carried out a security operation, in the previous 48 hours, targeting a local leader affiliated with “ISIS” in Al-Alwa area in Al-Shaddady countryside, south of Al-Hasakah.

According to sources, the military forces confiscated weapons, equipment and documents on the ISIS commander’s possession. It is worth noting that the man was working on transferring weapons, recruiting new members to “ISIS” and planning to carry out operations creating security chaos in the region.

While on January 8, SOHR activists reported that the Rapid Intervention Forces arrested an ISIS commander, with support by International Coalition aircraft, in Al-Rashidiyah village in Al-Shadadi countryside in Al-Hasakah province.

According to sources, the commander used to finance and recruit people to ISIS, where he was caught with documents, technical tools and mobiles in his possession.
