Al-Hasakah province: SOHR sources have reported that SDF have accomplished their combing operations in all residential neighbourhoods arround Al-Sina’a prison in Ghuwayran neighbourhood in Al-Hasakah city. Meanwhile SOHR activists have confirmed that there are 500 to 600 ISIS members keeping over 50 employees and guards hostages insides the prison. Moreover, there are children of the “Caliphate Cubs” still inside the prison.
On the other hand, ISIS members have threatened, via loudspeakers, to execute all hostages in the prison, amid subsiding clashes. Furthermore, ISIS media has circulated video footages showing the hostages, while ISIS tended to stir up strife between the Kurds and Arabs.
In the meantime, a state of security alertness is prevailing in the region, amid reports of a military operation in 24 hours to set the hostages free, in the case that ISIS will not bow to SDF demands.
A few hours ago, SOHR sources monitored tense calm in Al-Hasakah neighbourhoods and Ghuwayran prison, after cessation of clashes in the evening, while SDF, Internal Security Forces and Counter Terrorism forces are besieging Al-Sina’a prison which hsots thousands of ISIS rebels. This comes with sporadic flights by International Coalition helicopters over the region.
It is worth noting that prisoners were kept without water or food for over 72 hours, amid fear of the lives of hundreds of little prisoners, known as “Ashbal Al-Khilafa” (Caliphate Cubs).
