Syrian desert | Russian and regime aircraft execute 50 airstrikes on ISIS hideouts

Reliable sources informed SOHR that Russian fighter jets have executed 40 airstrikes on ISIS positions in the Syrian desert. Meanwhile, regime helicopters participated in these operations by dropping over ten barrel bombs on different positions and providing backup for monitoring ISIS fighters on the ground. The Russian and regime airstrikes were concentrated in the deserts of Ithirya in Hama, Al-Rasafah in Al-Raqqah and Al-Sukhnah in Homs.

This coincides with escalating ISIS attacks in the Syrian desert and SDF-held areas, as well as the dramatic developments in Ghuwayran prison and its surroundings in Al-Hasakah city.

The new attacks bring the number of airstrikes executed by Russian fighter jets on the Syrian desert in the past 72 hours rose to 90.

Accordingly, the number of airstrikes executed by Russian fighter jets on the Syrian desert since the beginning of January 2022 has exceeded 614.

SOHR sources reported earlier this morning that four regime helicopters targeted caves, bunkers and positions that ISIS members were hiding in the Syrian desert and the surrounding areas of Athriya road at Al-Raqqa-Hama-Aleppo triangle.
