Afrin | Turkish intelligence arrests four civilians, while “military police” release civilian for ransom

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish intelligence patrols carried out a raid and arrest campaign across Afrin on January 23, arresting four civilians for unknown charges and taking them to unknown destination.

Meanwhile, On January 23, the military police released a civilian from Kaunda village in Raju district after paying a ransom of 4,000 Turkish liras. The man had been arrested for “participating in guard shifts during the Autonomous Administration control of Afrin city and its suburbs.

On January 23, SOHR sources reported that a patrol of Turkish-backed “Military Police” stormed a house in Atamah village in Shiran district and arrested three residents, including a woman for unknown reasons.

While on January 21, a political security patrol arrested a civilian from Qarnah village in Bulbul district in Afrin countryside for unknown charges.

On January 22, SOHR sources reported that a patrol of “Military Police” arrested two residents from Gawiq village in Afrin countryside, on January 19. The detainees were taken to Miliary police detention centres in Afrin on unknown charges.
